Flipkart has surprised Indian buyers by reintroducing the Samsung Galaxy S24, this time powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor instead of the Exynos 2400 that originally shipped in India and other global markets (excluding the US, Canada, and China).
Pricing and Variants
The Snapdragon-powered Galaxy S24 is available for pre-order on Flipkart. The pricing is as follows:
- 8GB RAM + 128GB storage – ₹75,000
- 8GB RAM + 256GB storage – ₹80,000
Interestingly, the 256GB variant is priced the same as its original launch price, while the 128GB model offers a slightly more affordable entry point.
Comparison with Galaxy S25
While the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 offers better performance than the Exynos 2400, some users may question the logic of this re-release. For instance, Flipkart is also offering the Galaxy S25 (12GB + 256GB) at ₹75,000, which not only comes with the newer Snapdragon 8 Elite processor but also 4GB extra RAM. Both processors are “for Galaxy” customized versions with overclocked performance, making the S25 arguably a better deal for the same price.
Availability and Variants
The original Exynos-based Galaxy S24 has now disappeared from Flipkart, though it still remains listed on Samsung India’s official site. Interestingly, Samsung’s website has not yet mentioned the Snapdragon version for India.
The Galaxy S24 Snapdragon variant (model number SM-S921E) launches with Android 15 out of the box, while the earlier Exynos model (SM-S921B) shipped with Android 14.
Other Models
- The Galaxy S24+ will not be re-released with Snapdragon in India.
- The Galaxy S24 Ultra already came with Snapdragon globally, so no changes there.
Verdict
The Snapdragon Galaxy S24 offers an attractive option for those who strongly prefer Snapdragon chips over Exynos. However, with the Galaxy S25 available at the same price, buyers may want to weigh their options carefully before making a purchase.
